All about plastic waste recycling

June 7 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 pm

Free public talk organised by Transition Chesterfield

By Philippa Roine, Principal Waste Management Officer, Chesterfield Borough Council

Are you concerned about the amount of plastic waste we create as a society?  Do you ever feel confused about what goes in your blue bin? Do you wonder what happens to the waste in your blue bin?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then come along to a presentation on the practicalities of plastic waste recycling/reduction. Philippa’s talk will cover the following:

  • What types of plastic can and cannot be recycled in Chesterfield
  • What types of plastic we should try to avoid
  • What happens to the plastic waste we recycle – both at kerbside and at the tip
  • What we can do to reduce plastic waste

There will be an opportunity to ask questions. No need to register, all welcome.

The Friends Meeting House is wheelchair accessible.  It is a short walking/cycling distance (about half a mile) from the town centre or take the 39 bus from outside Oxfam on Glumangate.  Parking in grounds or on Brockwell Lane or Ashgate Rd carpark.
