Does fracking have a role to play in England’s energy mix?

December 7 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Debate between Eckington Against Fracking vs Ineos, chaired by Lee Rowley, MP. Free but need to register here at Eventbrite.

This event is a debate between Mr David Kesteven of Eckington Against Fracking and Mr Tom Pickering of INEOS Shale. The purpose of the debate is to discuss whether there is a place for fracking in England’s energy mix. Mr Pickering, Mr Kesteven and Mr Rowley will introduce the debate and all make an opening statement in support of their contention for the first half hour of the debate, then there will be a question and answer session from the audience. Mr Lee Rowley, MP for North East Derbyshire has been kind enough to offer to chair the event.
We hope everyone uses this debate as an opportunity get more information and to think about whether they feel that fracking has a place in England. It is a chance to think about the locations of the planned developments and whether we feel there is a place for fracking in England. Attendees will be given the chance to ask questions and raise points which they feel are relevant to the debate and to seek answers to questions which are standing in the way of them making their mind up on the issue of fracking.

At the end of the debate a show of hands will determine whether the debate has provided people with more information on which to make a decision or whether the submissions by the speakers have changed peoples minds on the issues at hand, or indeed whether people are still undecided on the issues.
