Monday 17th August SEED SAVING GUIDELINES
with Alan Booth
Alan is a local Seed Guardian for Garden Organic’s Heritage Seed Library. The session will cover: ‘Why save seed?’, ‘Seed saving guidance’, ‘Preserving varieties’ and ‘Seed Storage’. He will focus on peas, beans and tomatoes as examples and we hope to provide a FREE booklet on seed saving guidance. Until recently Alan was the Treasurer of Garden Organic.

with Jennie Street -mainly Fruit & Veg. Questions!
Jennie runs Rhubarb Farm in Langwith and is famous for her fun gardening quizzes.
Teams of up to four people can try to win the prize!

Monday 19th October ALL ABOUT POTATOES!
with Steve Sansom
Steve volunteers with Transition Chesterfield and runs ‘Potato Day’.
This session will look at growing the best potatoes and FREE samples of different cooked varieties will be available to try.
This will also be the launch of the Potato Day 2016 brochure and website.

Monday 16th November ORGANIC GARDENING
with Sally Smith
Sally now lives in the area and until latterly worked for Garden Organic providing information, advice, training and workshops. She recently worked for the BBC with the coverage of the Chelsea Flower Show. This session explains exactly what Organic Gardening is, looking at the Garden Organic Guidelines, guiding the grower to best practice as well as defining exactly what is and what isn’t acceptable to be called organic.
